OUR JAGUAR XJ40 COLLECTION

Jags have always been my favourite cars but I have only owned 4 of them in the past, so now it's time to re-visit my favourite models.

As far as I'm concerned the XJ-40 series was the last of the "real" Jags, everything after being pretty much a glorified Ford.

This car is a personal UK import and is in very good condition for its age. It has standard cloth upholstery, twin headlights, basic aircon/heater system, a sunroof, the non electronic 4 speed auto, and of course the 3.2 litre DOHC six.
It does not have electric seats, sports mode, cruise control, matchwood inlays, stitched door trims or console or any of the nice Sovereign chrome trims.

Finding a UK spec 3.2 is a bit of a treat as I haven't seen many early 3.2 cars over here, someone has looked after this car pretty well  but I don't have a lot of history on it overall.
Later X300 16" wheel Come summer I'm going to finish off the minor work needed to make this a great car. XJ40 3.2 XJ40 3.2

1990 XJ40 4.0 Sovereign.
1990 XJ40 Jap spec This 1990 Jap Spec car is a fully optioned Sovereign with a great body and panels but a stuffed motor and needing lots of other work. Hence it is being scrapped to provide parts for my other 2 XJ40s. 1990 XJ40 Jap spec 1990 XJ40 Jap spec

1987 XJ40 3.6 Poverty Pack.
1987 XJ40 This is a 1987 Australian Compliance base model car still fitted with the metric size wheels and crappy plastic hubcaps. It has many problems including 4 rusted out doors and a dash that has cracked and sagged in the middle. Surprisingly the body itself is fine (except for some damage to the front right hand bumper and guard, and some minor rust) and it does start and run, all be it with a heap of error codes and warnings. 1987 XJ40 Metric steel wheels and plastic hubcaps.
Using parts from the above Sovereign we have now changed over or are in the process of changing over; The dash and glove compartment door, all 4 doors, all 4 wheels (getting rid of the metric wheels for 15" aftermarket ones), the front right hand guard, the front bumper and air dam, and lots of small bits and pieces to make the 1990 parts match the 1987 body properly.
1987 Part Digital Dash We are also refurbishing all the wood, and when all this has been done it will be time to get into the electrics and hydraulics (and probably the engine as well) to make a decent car which will be ready for paint and re-registration. Basic climate system Optional leather seats
I will be adding a new page with our progress on this project soon.
